Nov 2011 Dr Alistair Collen - Learning Together PDF Print E-mail

In our November 2011 Meeting of the BPD Carers group we held the second of our learning sessions. This was in the form of a talk from Dr Alistair Collen, Consultant Psychologist for the Complex Cases Service and then smaller group discussions about the topics we heard. His topic was about understanding BPD and recognising why change is difficult. The talk is aimed specifically at Friends and Family of persons with B.P.D. The talk drew heavily from two sources. The first is a book written by Valerie Porr called Overcoming Borderline Personality Disorder: A Family Guide for Healing and Change. The second was a set of guidelines written by John G. Gunderson, M.D. and Cynthia Berkowitz, M.D. The guidelines are available here http://www.borderlinepersonalitydisorder.com/family-connections/family-guidelines

Alistair has kindly made his slides available to download
