Proposed Redesign of Mental Health Services across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough - Response to Consultation Document

This response is from the Support Group for Family & Friends of People with Personality Disorder. Our Group is linked to the Complex Cases Service (CCS) and comprises partners, parents and siblings of people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). We are responding to the overall aims of the redesign proposals but with a focus specifically on the needs of patients with BPD and their carers.

This response focuses on the gaps in provision identified by group members when supporting their loved ones and interacting with the NHS particularly in times of crisis. This response is based on our first hand practical experiences over many years. Group members have taken a keen interest in the consultation process having attended an open workshop presentation, an individual discussion forum and received a very informative presentation to the group at our December 2011 meeting.
